Heirloom Sessions are my tribute to the timeless Southern tradition of vignette portraiture, bringing a cherished piece of my heritage to New England. Designed for children ages one to six, these black-and-white portraits are lovingly hand-edited, with a soft vignette that lends a classic, enduring quality. More than just photographs, these sweet images are meant to be treasured for generations—future family heirlooms that capture childhood’s fleeting magic.

Heirloom Events are offered from January to May and September to December on select Saturdays and Sundays in Boston, Connecticut, and Richmond, VA. I’m also open to traveling to additional cities!
If an Heirloom Event doesn’t fit your schedule, I offer single sessions in my Tiverton, RI studio on weekdays year-round.
Siblings can be included with individual images along with portraits all together. These are discounted with back to back bookings.

I’ve been photographing children and families for 10 years, and am an expert at creating a low stress, enjoyable experience so that your child can display their truest, most joyful self during their session.

You can also add a simple lifestyle session to capture your little one’s full heirloom outfit. These images showcase their entire look and personality against the classic white backdrop in my newly renovated studio space, complemented by a few natural elements like rockers and wooden toys. Perfect for displaying alongside your traditional vignette, this add-on gives you the best of both worlds—timeless heirloom portraits and full-body lifestyle images of your child in their most cherished outfit.
choosing the right outfit
A big part of creating heirloom portraits is choosing the perfect outfit for your child. For a true heirloom look, I recommend selecting pieces with details like smocking, lace trim, or other classic touches. When you book, you'll receive a confirmation email with a curated list of my favorite local boutiques and heirloom brands to help you find the ideal piece.
For added convenience, you can also take advantage of our complimentary Heirloom Children’s Closet. With a range of sizes from 6 months to 5T, if you don’t have your own sentimental piece, you’re welcome to borrow from our carefully selected studio wardrobe!
prints + framing
The final step in the process is choosing your prints, framing, and custom composites. Within two weeks, your images will be ready for viewing, and you’ll select your top 8 for final editing. I will assist you in designing the custom artwork that best suits your home.
Print orders must be placed through the online gallery of final images provided.
This ensures your timeless portraits are printed on the highest quality photographic paper, meticulously inspected for flaws, and handled with care. Prints purchased from the gallery are printed on matte fine art photographic paper and come directly from a professional-quality lab. Local orders can be picked up at the MBP Studio or shipped for an additional fee.
