Richmond Heirloom Portrait Event

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be back in my hometown of Richmond, VA, for another Heirloom Portrait Event on March 15, 2025!

Last spring, I hosted my first Richmond Heirloom Portrait Event, and it was a huge success. I loved meeting so many wonderful families and seeing old friends from my childhood in Richmond. Capturing these timeless portraits that honor a classic southern tradition brings me back to my roots!

What Are Heirloom Portraits?

Heirloom portraits are simple, timeless vignette portraits that beautifully preserve a child’s innocence and charm. With soft lighting, a clean white background, and an emphasis on sweet expressions, these portraits become treasured keepsakes for generations. These portraits are also best hanging in your house – which is why I focus on creating prints and framing options for you to enjoy year round.

Who Are These Portraits Best For?

I typically recommend heirloom portraits for children between 1 and 8 years old, though my absolute favorite age is 4 to 5 years old—they still have that sweet baby look while really starting to resemble their little personalities. That said, many families also love to celebrate their baby’s first birthday with an heirloom portrait, which I think is such a beautiful tradition. Whatever age you decide on, you won’t regret getting these portraits done at the Richmond Heirloom Portrait Event.

Add-On: Lifestyle Sessions

Many of my clients choose to add on a short lifestyle session in addition to their heirloom portraits. These sessions are perfect for capturing full-body images that highlight your child’s smocked outfit, classic shoes—or, my personal favorite, those little bare feet!
