A Seaside Tabor Academy Wedding | Summer 2024

Katie and Brett tied the knot on a steamy August day in the most meaningful place imaginable—Marion, Massachusetts. Having spent her childhood summers at her grandmother’s home in Marion, Katie knew from the start it’s where she wanted to get married. The couple wisely chose a Tabor Academy Wedding. Only minutes from the family home, for its breathtaking coastal views and elegant yet relaxed setting. The dock, the waterfront lawn, and the sailcloth tent set the stage for a day that was equal parts sentimental and celebratory.

Getting Ready in Marion

Katie got ready at her grandmother’s home. We captured some of the most touching moments there at the house. Quiet portraits in her grandmother’s bedroom, heirloom details, and the joyful bustle of bridesmaids helping her into her gown. After a few bridal portraits, it was time for the much anticipated first look. Then, Brett waited on the dock and when he turned to see Katie, he couldn’t hold back tears. It was one of the most genuine and emotional moments of the day.

After bridal party portraits on the front lawn, everyone headed to the chapel at Tabor for the ceremony. With no air conditioning and the August sun in full force, it was a hot one! Luckily, spirits were high, and the chapel was filled with love. As the newlyweds walked out, guests showered them with flower petals. They then followed them down to the waterfront for cocktail hour on the lawn.

The Reception for a Tabor Academy Wedding

The tented reception was full of energy from the start. A live band brought the party to life. Heartfelt toasts had guests laughing and tearing up in equal measure. And dinner was served as the sun began to dip below the horizon. We were able to sneak away for sunset portraits on the dock! I couldn’t think of a better way to close out the day with the golden hour light and waterfront as the backdrop. Some of my favorite images from the day.
