Beavertail Engagement Session

Meaghan and Josh’s Beavertail engagement session was one for the books! After what felt like weeks of rain and stormy weather, we finally got a beautiful evening for their session. I love Beavertail in the evenings because of the rich color of the ocean and the golden glow on the rocks. This night did not disappoint!

If you’ve never visited Beavertail State Park before, you’ll have to add it to your must see list in Rhode Island. “Beavertail State Park in Jamestown, Rhode Island offers some of the most beautiful vistas along the New England coastline. You can enjoy this pristine landscape from one of four overlooks or walk the rocky coastline, which features excellent saltwater fishing. Beavertail attracts scientists of all ages for an exploration of its fascinating geology, ecology, and marine life. The Beavertail Lighthouse Museum offers historical information about the property, Narragansett Bay, and the shipping industry that helped shape Rhode Island. It also features a collection of artifacts from the third-oldest lighthouse in North America.”

Meaghan and Josh’s pup Riley even got to join us for the evening. This sweet Irish Wolfhound was so chill and eager to be in front of the camera. It was so fun to get some photos with Riley – the “baby”! Engagement sessions are a great time to capture couple’s pets. It can be difficult on the wedding day to incorporate your pet due to restrictions at the venue and finding someone to transport the pet back and forth to the venue. The engagement session offers a great alternative!

Meaghan and Josh chose Mackerel Cove Beach as their second location as its only a few minutes down the road from Beavertail. We hopped over there for the last of the sunset and their second outfit. It was nice to get some time walking on the beach – but definitely had to navigate the red tide! The opposite side of Mackerel Cove offers the best sunset – IMO. The perfect end to this beautiful Beavertail engagement session!
