There are few wedding venues in New England as iconic as Ocean House. Perched high above the shoreline in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, the historic hotel offers breathtaking ocean views, luxurious accommodations, and timeless coastal elegance. On a beautiful sunny day in May, Taylor and Eric gathered their family and friends there to celebrate a wedding day filled with heartfelt moments, classic details, and unforgettable scenery.
Taylor and Eric spent the morning getting ready at Ocean House, enjoying a relaxed start to the day surrounded by their closest loved ones. The spacious guest rooms provided plenty of room for everyone to settle in, while the sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean created a beautiful backdrop for the morning’s excitement.
Taylor wore a timeless strapless satin ballgown that perfectly complemented the classic feel of the celebration. Her bouquet featured soft cream, ivory, and blush florals that carried throughout the wedding design and added a romantic touch to every detail of the day.
One of the many reasons couples love an Ocean House wedding is the convenience of having everything in one place. From getting ready to portraits and the reception, the property allows the day to flow seamlessly while giving guests a true coastal Rhode Island experience.
Taylor and Eric chose to keep with tradition and skip a first look, saving that special moment for the ceremony.
A short drive from Ocean House, family and friends gathered at Watch Hill Chapel for an intimate wedding ceremony. The historic chapel provided a beautiful setting for the couple’s vows and reflected the timeless atmosphere they envisioned for their wedding day.
Before the ceremony began, the flower girl and ring bearer stole everyone’s hearts as they walked hand in hand down the aisle.
Then came one of the most emotional moments of the day.
As the chapel doors opened, Eric saw Taylor for the first time. His eyes immediately filled with tears as she made her way toward him. The ceremony that followed felt deeply personal and meaningful, surrounded by the people who mattered most to them.
After the ceremony, guests returned to Ocean House while Taylor and Eric spent time together for portraits on the lawn overlooking the water.
The sunshine and clear skies created ideal conditions for photographs. Ocean House offers no shortage of beautiful locations, and every corner of the property showcases stunning views of the Rhode Island coastline. The expansive lawn provided a classic New England backdrop while allowing Taylor and Eric to enjoy a few quiet moments together before joining cocktail hour.

Guests gathered on the lawn and outdoor deck for cocktail hour while taking in the ocean views.
Signature cocktails added a personal touch to the celebration, while Del’s Lemonade gave guests a taste of a beloved Rhode Island tradition. Friends and family mingled in the sunshine, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and coastal setting before moving inside for the reception.
The combination of ocean breezes, waterfront views, and elegant surroundings made cocktail hour feel like a destination vacation and wedding celebration all in one.
The reception took place inside one of Ocean House’s intimate ballrooms. Cream, ivory, and blush florals carried from the ceremony into the reception space, creating a cohesive design that felt sophisticated yet inviting. Every detail reflected the couple’s classic style, from the tablescapes to the beautiful three-tier wedding cake adorned with soft pink and cream blooms.
As dinner came to a close, Taylor and Eric stepped outside for sunset portraits around the property.
The soft golden-hour light created the perfect setting as they explored Ocean House’s sweeping outdoor staircases. Some of the most romantic portraits of the day came during this quiet time together. We also made our way down toward the boardwalk overlooking the ocean, where the warm evening light and coastal scenery created a stunning backdrop.
Back inside, Taylor and Eric shared a sweet first dance before welcoming their parents onto the dance floor for heartfelt parent dances.
As the evening continued, Taylor surprised guests with a wardrobe change. She traded her wedding gown for a fun pearl and satin mini dress that perfectly matched the energy of the reception and allowed her to fully enjoy the celebration.
The couple also shared a private cake cutting before returning to the dance floor.
Soon, guests packed the ballroom and kept the energy high throughout the evening. One of the most memorable moments came when Taylor and Eric were lifted into chairs above the dance floor while family and friends gathered around celebrating them as newlyweds.
From the emotional ceremony at Watch Hill Chapel to golden-hour portraits overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, every part of Taylor and Eric’s wedding reflected the beauty of a classic coastal New England celebration.
Their Ocean House wedding combined timeless style, meaningful traditions, and one of Rhode Island’s most spectacular waterfront settings. It was a joy to document every moment of their unforgettable day in Watch Hill.
