Macy and Conor traveled from Texas to Newport for their Texas-size Castle Hill wedding, bringing big joy, Jewish heritage and a guest list ready to celebrate.
Throughout the weekend, I had the honor of photographing their three-day celebration. It began with the rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the International Tennis Hall of Fame and continued with their waterfront ceremony and tent reception at Castle Hill.
On a perfectly sunny August day, sailboats drifted across Narragansett Bay. Their celebration blended meaningful Jewish tradition with coastal elegance. From a quiet first look by the Castle Hill lighthouse, to chairs lifted high above the dance floor, every moment felt joyful and full of Texas-sized spirit.
First, the day began quietly in the gardens. Macy shared an emotional first look with her dad tucked among the greenery.
Next, she made her way to the shoreline for a private first look with Conor near the Castle Hill lighthouse. With the Atlantic stretching behind them, they exchanged handwritten vows on the rocks. It was an intentional pause before the ceremony — just the two of them, the sound of the water, and the wind catching her veil.
Soon after, guests gathered on the lawn overlooking the water.
Macy and Conor’s ceremony honored their Jewish heritage in a deeply personal way. From the signing of their ketubah, to their parents flanking the ceremony space in visible support, every element carried meaning.
Their chuppah was beautifully framed by a lush white floral arbor accented with soft blue snapdragons. During the ceremony, they participated in the traditional circling ritual. Then, they shared a quiet moment wrapped in a tallit, symbolizing unity and the home they will build as one.
In this setting, a Jewish Castle Hill wedding feels especially meaningful. It pairs centuries-old ritual with one of New England’s most iconic waterfront venues. Here, the sacred and the scenic coexist effortlessly.
Cheers erupted across the lawn as they sealed their vows. With the breaking of the glass, the celebration truly began.
After the ceremony, cocktail hour unfolded on the lawn. Champagne flutes in hand and sailboats drifting in the distance, impeccably dressed guests mingled in the late summer light.
Oyster shell escort cards and thoughtful personal details blended into the blue-and-white coastal palette. The style felt perfectly in step with the Newport setting.
As guests moved into the sailcloth tent, the reception design came to life. A long head table featured a cascading waterfall hydrangea runner. Above it, a dramatic greenery- and floral-draped chandelier created a sculptural focal point.
Throughout the night, the live band kept the energy high. Soon after, the hora began — and this Texas crowd did not hold back! Macy and Conor were lifted high above the dance floor, followed by their parents.
As the party ramped up, Macy changed into a chic mini dress. To round out the night, the bride and groom joined the band on stage.
At the end of the evening, Kilwins ice cream made a playful appearance. It was the perfect Newport summer finish.
From the welcome party at the Tennis Hall of Fame to the final song under the tent, this Texas-sized Jewish Castle Hill wedding was more than a single day. Instead, it was a complete, immersive celebration.
A Texas love story. A Newport setting. Jewish heritage. An unforgettable wedding weekend.
