It’s rare to hear of a couple whose relationship grows stronger with distance. But that’s what exactly what happened to Calindy + Jason! These two met in New Orleans on separate work trips and after a few weeks pursued one another. Before long Calindy dove in and moved across the country to the great state of Texas! A Tiverton native, Calindy knew she wanted a rustic chic wedding in the Ocean State and ended up choosing Fort Adams!
Despite the rainy weather, Calindy + Jason’s rustic chic Fort Adams wedding in Newport went on without a hitch! A craft enthusiast, Calindy took on a lot of DIY projects to pull off the style she envisioned for her wedding. Personalized koozies, homemade molasses cookies for all the guests, and wooden signs, candle holders and cupcake towers by her father! All those sweet details really made an impact on their rustic chic wedding. The color scheme of mint green, gold and hints of pink also added to the rustic feel.
The best part about the rainy day (in my opinion) was the ceremony in the North Casemates of Fort Adams. That space is incredibly unique – three vaulted chambers overlook the Parade Field and created this intimate, historic space that was so special! The reception followed on the Parade Field inside the Fort. All guests were surprised with a cannon that the bride and groom and family got to shoot! The most unique and special send-off that I’ve seen! Congrats to Calindy + Jason!
