Ella and Jake’s Spring Glen Manor wedding in Portsmouth, Rhode Island felt effortlessly beautiful from start to finish. The waterfront setting, vibrant florals, and thoughtful details made it unforgettable.
The forecast hinted at rain, but Ella and Jake stayed optimistic. Thankfully, the weather held off for their garden ceremony. Guests gathered at Glen Manor House among blooming rhododendrons while live string music filled the garden. The atmosphere felt calm, romantic, and full of anticipation.
From the moment I arrived, the florals stood out. Bright pink peonies, sunset-toned ranunculus, and playful poppies brought fresh, spring energy to the property. Soft, peachy blooms added balance and texture.
These same florals framed the chuppah where Ella and Jake were married. Draping fabric moved gently in the breeze and added a soft, elegant touch. The ceremony took place in the side garden, surrounded by spring blooms with guests in seasonal colors, and the breeze off the waterfront just beyond. The tones were perfectly suited for a spring Glen Manor wedding.
After the ceremony, guests moved to cocktail hour on the loggia and along the back patio. The fountain and gardens created a relaxed, inviting setting.
Meanwhile, I brought Ella and Jake down to the dock on the Sakonnet for portraits. The overcast light worked in our favor and gave us a soft, even glow. It’s one of my favorite lighting conditions to photograph.
We took more portraits in front of Glen Manor House, showcasing the front façade. There, the architecture added a timeless, editorial feel to their gallery. Combined with their waterfront portraits, it created beautiful variety.
As the reception began, every detail reflected their vibrant spring palette. Tables featured peachy-pink candles in hurricane vases. Playful citrus accents, including orange and grapefruit slices, added a fresh pop of color.
A rattan wall escort display introduced a natural, coastal texture. Overhead, twinkling lights transformed the side patio into a warm and inviting space.
One of my favorite parts of the day was how Ella and Jake used the outdoor patio for key moments. They held their first dances, parent dances, and speeches outside. This choice created a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere. It also allowed guests to enjoy the setting as the sun began to set.
As evening fell, the candlelight started to glow. The entire space felt even more romantic.
Later, everyone moved inside to the ballroom for dancing. The energy quickly picked up. In true Jewish wedding tradition, Ella and Jake were lifted in chairs while their guests cheered around them. It was one of the most joyful moments of the night.
Later in the evening, Ella changed into a sleek, fitted reception dress – the perfect look for a full night on the dance floor.
Ella and Jake’s colorful Spring Glen Manor wedding blended vibrant design, meaningful tradition, and coastal Rhode Island beauty. From the garden ceremony to waterfront portraits and a candlelit reception, every part of the day felt intentional and full of joy. I feel so lucky to have captured it.
