Just this past month I had the privilege to attend an event for Engaged Southern New England. They launched their 2020 Engaged Magazine and Gretchen + Chris’s Whaling Museum holiday wedding was featured! Seeing my couples in print are something special as a wedding photographer. Especially a year later!
I met Gretchen and Chris for the first time two weeks before their wedding. I pulled up to their charming cape cod house and walked into an even more charming interior. Gretchen has a passion for interior design and all things New England. I immediately fell in love with her style and this sweet couple! Gretchen had envisioned a winter wonderland for her whaling museum holiday wedding. She wanted it to be festive for the holidays, while also paying attention to all the maritime history at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
New Bedford Whaling Museum Wedding DetailsÂ
Every little detail was thought of. Gretchen perfectly coordinated the holidays with New Bedford with New England. Beautiful white bouquets, navy gowns, and furs for the bridesmaids. Classic navy blazers, green corduroy pants, and whale socks for the men. Whale place cards, a snow machine, a hot chocolate bar, and a surprise visit from SANTA! Santa was my favorite part. The room turned red, the snow started to fall, and Santa entered to “Sleigh Ride” while Russell Morin staff handed out trays of milk + cookies to all the guests. Pure magic!
A little over a year after this beautiful whaling museum holiday wedding, I am grateful to say that Gretchen has become one of my close friends! It was such an honor to capture this unique, quintessential New England holiday wedding for Gretchen and Chris!
