Dowses Beach Family Session

Dowses Beach, Cape Cod | Summer 2023

Sunset and toddlers just don’t mix. And then you add in some sand flies to really spice it up! Luckily, I bet you can’t even tell that this Dowses Beach Family Session was short and sweet or that the girls were having some big feelings this night!

We moved quickly and made this session all about play because when you have 2 kids under 2 years old, that’s typically all you can do to get them to genuinely smile! And Dowses Beach was the perfect setup for these babies!

The F family spends a lot of time on Cape Cod each summer and Dowses Beach is a favorite spot. A peninsula beach, Dowses offers your choice of bay or ocean water. The sand is soft and the beach is lined with beautiful dunes. We stayed on the bay side to capture the best light and allow for the girls to put their feet in the water without any waves. Aside from the biting sand flies, it was such a peaceful evening on this side with down east boats coming in and out, the sun setting over the water, and soft waves lapping the sand.

I was obsessed with the way mom styled their outfits. The cutest baby Hill House dresses for the kids and linen for the parents. A very coastal themed Dowses Beach family session.
