Effortless Coastal Wedding in Little Compton RI

A Love Story Rooted in Little Compton

This day is exactly why I love Little Compton wedding photography. Lizzie and Jack’s story feels inseparable from Little Compton. They grew up summering here, with families that have been close for years. What started as a childhood connection eventually turned into something more, and once it did, they were “all in.”

Their relationship strikes a balance that feels both fun and grounded. Jack brings a mix of playful and classic—equally at home with Legos or a glass of scotch—while Lizzie naturally brings people together and makes everyone feel included. That dynamic shaped the entire day.

They described their vision as “coastal elegance,” but more importantly, they wanted it to feel real. They wanted guests to feel like they were at a Little Compton dinner party—relaxed, thoughtful, and fully present.

Getting Ready at Stone House Inn

We started the day at Stone House Inn, which always delivers for Little Compton wedding photography. The stone facade and tiered decks feel grand, but still relaxed. It’s a space that encourages people to slow down and actually enjoy what’s happening.

Lizzie kept her look simple and refined. Her strapless column gown paired with delicate white florals felt effortless. Meanwhile, Jack and the guys wore classic black tuxes, which grounded everything. The overall style felt true to Little Compton—elevated, but never trying too hard.

Their first look felt easy and genuine, with a quiet kind of excitement that built as they took each other in. Just after, they stepped aside for a semi-private vow exchange at Stone House Inn, which added a grounded layer to the moment. From there, we moved into family photos, and everything continued to flow naturally.

A Classic Church Ceremony

The ceremony at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church brought everyone together in a more traditional setting. It added structure to the day and created a nice contrast to the relaxed celebration that followed.

Afterward, everyone headed to a private waterfront home, and the mood shifted right away.

Coastal Cocktail Hour on the Lawn

This is where the day really opened up. Cocktail hour spread across the lawn, with live music, a raw bar, and drinks flowing. Guests moved freely, which made everything feel social and connected.

Lizzie and Jack jumped right in—Jack now in a white dinner jacket, both of them in sunglasses, fully immersed with their guests. That moment set the tone for the entire night.

The details added a layer of fun without feeling forced. Lawn games, a build-your-own LEGO station, and custom LEGO escort cards gave guests something to interact with. Kids ran around, adults settled in, and everything felt easy and natural.

A Sailcloth Tent Reception by the Water

As the sun dropped, everyone moved under the sailcloth tent. The checkered dance floor and twinkle lights immediately shifted the energy into party mode. The band kicked things off, and the dance floor filled fast. From there, it stayed packed, with everyone moving together as one big, connected group. Speeches followed and hit that perfect balance—funny, heartfelt, and just a little emotional.

As the night went on, the tent began to glow, and no one felt ready to leave. Instead, the celebration carried on with midnight snacks and a silent disco, which made the night even more memorable. With headphones on, everyone danced in their own world, but still together.

This wedding captured everything I aim for with Little Compton wedding photography. It felt relaxed, personal, and full of genuine connection. Nothing was overdone, and that’s exactly what made it unforgettable.
