This New Canaan CT heirloom portrait photography event was such a special experience, and truly one I won’t forget. When a client reached out and offered to host sessions in their home, I immediately knew it would be something unique. Not only did the setting feel warm and welcoming, but it also created the perfect environment for timeless, classic portraiture. Being invited into a home adds a level of comfort that you simply can’t replicate elsewhere, and that ease comes through so clearly in the final images.

A Classic Approach to Heirloom Portrait Photography

Heirloom portrait photography is all about preserving childhood in a refined, lasting way. With that in mind, these sessions are intentionally minimal. A soft white backdrop keeps the look clean and timeless, while a few simple props—a child-sized spindleback chair or stool, a classic rocking horse, or wooden blocks—add subtle character without distraction.
