Newport Lifestyle Newborn Session

This Newport Lifestyle Newborn Session was everything pretty in pink! Baby Penelope was just precious and her big sister Lily was excited to share the spotlight. I have photographed this family a few times over the years and Erika’s style really resonates with me. She chose a Beaufort Bonnet Company swaddle bow for Penelope’s first outfit and a precious smocked “little sister” bubble for the second outfit. Both tugged on my southern mama heartstrings. The perfect outfit choices for this sweet Newport Lifestyle Newborn Session.

In my in-home newborn sessions I always try to get a variety of posed and candid shots of the family. Standing, sitting and in various parts of the house. We get sibling photos done right out of the gate, especially because most siblings are toddlers and lets be real, their attention spans are SHORT. If the baby is doing well, we keep rolling with all the combinations – mom + baby, dad + baby, mom and dad with baby, and so on. Typically at the end of the session, after a diaper change and feeding, we get the sleepy solo shots of each newborn.

My favorite images from this session are of Lily jumping in the crib with her pigtails standing up. Penelope is totally unfazed. I can only imagine in two years that we can replicate this with both girls in pigtails!
