ALLISON + BOBBY | OCTOBER 2018 | OCEAN DRIVE ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Ocean Drive Engagement Sessions are high on my list of Newport engagement locations. Especiallyyyyy when my clients have MOPEDS. Bonus!

Our engagement sessions are such a special time. I love getting to know my clients and create ease in style + “poses” before the wedding day. I also love creating memories for people during this sweet in-between time. That’s why I include engagement sessions in all my wedding packages!

Ultimately when choosing an engagement location I always focus on three things for my couples.

  1. Time of year + light
  2. Style + vibe
  3. Variety of locations

Each of my couples get to choose two locations within the same general area. There are SO many options that it can be overwhelming. Sometimes my couples choose the place they had their first date, their first kiss, a favorite vacation, etc. But if someplace doesn’t pop out, we turn to my three main focuses and narrow it down from there.

Allison and Bobby are both Newport locals…and beach goers/surfers…so when choosing their engagement photo locations, they knew they wanted to stay on-island. We bounced around a few different locations, but ultimately kept coming back to Ocean Drive and Fort Adams.  The blue ocean and the Pell Bridge were important to them. And ultimately, it’s about picking a location that feels true to you as a couple. For Allison and Bobby being near the water and keeping things casual was true to their personalities!

We got the jackpot in regards to fall weather. A perfect Sunday afternoon the day after a Nor’Easter. Cue all the dramatic waves on Ocean Drive! We started out at Ledge Road off the Cliff Walk for some rock scaling and dramatic wave shots. I loved how the sky opened up and gave us that striking light against the blue ocean. Afterwards we followed the light to a few more spots along Ocean Drive with Bobby’s moped, before finishing up at Fort Adams.

Allison and Bobby knocked it out of the park on this one! Loved walking, scaling rocks and mopeding along Ocean Drive with these two.
