When Mikaela approached me about a Prudence Island engagement session, I was beyond excited about the idea. And then she mentioned that Ted had a vintage Ford truck. And that they’d want to incorporate the truck into the shoot. SOLD!!
One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is that my clients get to choose locations that reflect them as a couple. It makes for a much more relaxed, genuine session when my couples incorporate their style and any special elements into the engagement session. Sometimes the locations can be based on a place of significance in their relationship, a sentimental childhood location, or a place that my couples feel most alive! Our sessions can also incorporate props – vintage cars, mopeds, surf boards, pets, balloons, etc.
Mikaela + Ted’s Prudence Island engagement session was just flat out FUN. We boarded the ferry from Bristol and took the 30 minute ride over to Prudence Island where Mikaela spent her summers growing up. We spent the next two hours exploring the island through her local eyes in their vintage Ford truck! Having never been on-island before, I was in for a real treat! An overcast afternoon, the fall leaves were on full display with their vibrant orange and yellow colors! As the start of off-season, we also had the island almost completely to ourselves! We hit all the highlights – the Prudence Island Lighthouse, tranquil dirt roads, the one room schoolhouse, hidden harbors, and of course, Mikaela’s family cottage!
I think you’ll see in these Prudence Island Engagement Session photos the joy that this island brings Mikaela + Ted.
