Most couples know me as a Newport wedding photographer! But what you may or may not know is that I actually live in the small coastal town 25 minutes north of Newport called Tiverton, RI. We like to call it our best kept secret. So when Maura and John reached out asking for a beautiful, unique backdrop for their engagement session, I recommended a Tiverton engagement session!
One of my favorite spots just 10 minutes from my house is Seapowet Marsh. It offers a beautiful country road, secluded pebble beach, a grassy field, and a marsh that serves as a dreamy backdrop. This location really shines at golden hour. And it REALLY showed off for Maura + John’s Tiverton engagement session last August! We utilized every element of the location, including my vintage Studebaker truck! I bought a 1961 Studebaker truck from Durand’s auto in 2018 for my business. I started using it for Christmas Mini Sessions and have slowly incorporated it into engagement sessions and styled shoots. Eventually I’d like to rent it out for weddings and other events, so it was super fun to style Maura + John with the vintage truck for some shots.
The session started out a bit overcast, but opened up to a fiery sunset for the last 30 minutes of our session. How adorable is this sweet couple?? If you love their engagement session photos, check out their Brae Burn Country Club wedding from November!
