Ocean House Engagement Session

Ocean House | Watch Hill, RI | Spring 2023

Julia and Ryan got engaged in Westerly, so it was only fitting for them to have an Ocean House Engagement Session! Julia put a lot of time and thought into planning this session. Her father lives nearby and so she’s spent a lot of time in the area. Ocean House seemed like the perfect backdrop to celebrate her engagement.

Ocean House Engagement Session

To avoid traffic and guests at the hotel, we planned for a morning session at the Ocean House. In the spring, its a lot more flexible for photo sessions and we were so lucky to snag such a beautiful morning. Julia’s father brought his 1972 Land Cruiser to the beginning of the session. What a cool vintage car! I hope they use it as the getaway car for their wedding:)

And of course, their adorable pup “Twiggy” made his debut for part of the Ocean House Engagement Session as well. He was VERY excitable and photogenic. I love incorporating client’s dogs at sessions. They are certainly a big part of the family and deserve to have some time to shine.

And because it was the spring (perk!) and a weekday morning (double perk!), we were able to get onto the beach in Watch Hill. Julia and Ryan made an outfit change and we got some great shots beachfront near the carousel. I always love when clients choose a little more relaxed outfit for the second half of the session. Especially at the beach, you want to be comfortable and able to play more! It was a little much to get Twiggy on the beach there, so we snagged a few shots near the shops in town with him.

I’m so excited to celebrate these two in June 2024 in Old Saybrook, CT!
